Cabot Real Estate Statistics for the Year to Date
The end of September marked the end of the third quarter. After the monthly real estate update for the month of September; I had to check and see how the Cabot housing market is doing this year to date compared to last year. September of this year was down over 60% compared to last year.
Here are the sold statistics for this year in the Cabot area. This is not just Cabot city limits. It includes Austin, Ward, and other rule parts of lonoke county. Anything in the Cabot school district is included into the statistics.
As of September 30th there were 655 homes sold in the area since January 1st of this year. Last year from January 1st to September 30th there were 775 homes sold in the Cabot area. That is a 15.5% decrease year over year.
A fifteen percent declined in the Cabot housing market is nothing to be happy about. I actually thought it would be a lot worse after seeing the numbers for September. We will see how the rest of the year goes and what 2009 has in store.
My next post will be to check to inventory for the Cabot real estate market. Inventory will help give an idea of supply and therefore help to determine demand.
