2008 New Construction Home Sales in Cabot
The last post I wrote showed us the Cabot home sales were down almost 20% last year from their 2006 highs. This post will focus on new construction home sales in the Cabot area. These statistics only show the home sales that were recorded in the MLS. Some builders sell their homes with out recording them into the MLS.
New construction home sales made up 27% of Cabot Home sales in 2008. In 2007 new construction home sales made up 29.9% of total homes sold in Cabot. In 2006 new construction homes sales made up 29% of the total home sales in Cabot.
Here is the total number of new construction home sales for the past three years.
2008- 225 new construction homes sold
2007- 285 new construction homes sold
2006- 304 new construction homes sold
As you can see Cabot new construction home sales are down 21% from last year. They are down 25.9% from the highs in 2006. Economist predict 2009 to be slow also. Hopefully it will pick up some from 2008.
Residents in Cabot should still feel happy that home sales are not down as much as other parts of the nation. My next post will focus on breaking down the price ranges of all homes sold in 2008.
